HIRO Coffee began its journey in 1977 as a coffee shop in Suita City, Osaka Prefecture. The retro brick-built shopfront and the meticulously brewed cup of coffee using a siphon remain unchanged to this day. The shop quickly captured the hearts of local coffee lovers—and those cherished traditions live on to this day.
Now, with 20 locations across the Hokusetsu Area, it is cherished locally as a well-known neighborhood café.

This new initiative, designed to safeguard the future of the coffee industry, delivers beans meticulously cultivated by producers with years of experience in coffee production to customers in their finest condition.
Under the HIRO CERT system, an uncompromisingly strict quality control is rigorously enforced throughout the entire process, from bean sourcing and roasting to transportation and extraction.
This consistent process, made possible by their skilled artisa ns meticulously roasting in their own workshop, is precisely why Hiro Coffee can offer only specialty coffee – and why it holds such great appeal.

Just a short distance from Osaka International (Itami) Airport, HIRO Coffee operates its central roasting facility: the Inagawa Roastery.
Since opening in 2004, green beans carefully selected from around the world have been roasted here and delivered to each shop.
The workshop houses five roasters, each utilized according to the beans’ characteristics, leveraging their distinct capabilities.
The roasting is undertaken by Hiro Coffee’s dedicated team of roasters. Passionate about coffee quality and freshness, they discern the heat like listening to the beans’ voice, controlling the roasting time to breathe life into each and every bean.
The flavor of coffee is significantly influenced by its freshness after roasting. Therefore, Hiro Coffee places the utmost importance on freshness, implementing a quality control system whereby coffee is provided within approximately eight days of roasting (limited to loose-weight sales).

HIRO CERT enables Hiro Coffee to achieve the ideal coffee through consistent management of every stage—from cultivation on the farm, through transport and roasting, to the cup. This is their “Specialty Coffee × Organic Certification”.
Organic beans cultivated under strict standards that prohibit pesticides and chemical fertilizers are characterized by their absence of off-flavours, gentle sweetness, and a clear aftertaste. This unwavering commitment to safety and quality makes Hiro Coffee’s organic coffee truly exceptional.
Obtaining organic certification for coffee beans is by no means a simple matter. Strict criteria must be met, covering soil and water quality management, fertilizer composition, working conditions and remuneration for farm laborers, safety, and traceability. Farms in Panama, Costa Rica, Brazil, Indonesia, and elsewhere – with whom they have built trust over many years – understand these standards and faithfully adhere to them, producing organically certified beans.
What sets HIRO Coffee apart is not only its partnerships, but also its in-house capabilities. Its roasting facility is itself certified for organic handling, enabling HIRO Coffee to roast organic-certified beans with the same meticulous standards applied to all its offerings. Through expert roasting techniques, the natural character of the organic beans is carefully drawn out and preserved.

This particular location is one of the most distinctive among HIRO Coffee’s 20 shops. It houses both the Inagawa Roasting Studio and the Inagawa Cake Studio, making it a truly special destination for coffee and sweets lovers alike.
Upon entering the building, the ground floor houses a shop selling coffee beans, drip bags, and original baked goods and cakes, while the first floor features a spacious café area. It is a truly luxurious location where you can enjoy freshly roasted, aromatic coffee and handmade cakes while gazing out of large windows at the ever-changing scenery of the Inagawa River throughout the seasons.
The greatest charm of Hiro Coffee Itami Inagawa Branch is the dynamic skyline visible from its terrace seating.
Located directly opposite the northern tip of Osaka International (Itami) Airport, across the Inagawa River, this café offers the luxury of watching aircraft that have just taken off fly right overhead as you sit on the terrace enjoying your coffee.
